The G2 and the Alpha One zippers are both luxury zippers. Both are beautifully made and high polished zippers but each have separate functions.
The G2 is a two way chain. This means that the zipper is equally as smooth going in both directions. The interior of the zipper teeth are shaped the same on both sides. This is what makes it a two way chain.
A two way zipper can be used with two zipper sliders. This type of configuration is used on zip up sweatshirts, jackets and coats. It allows you to unzip the bottom of the jacket allowing access to your pants pocket or be more comfortable while sitting without having to unzip your entire jacket. The two slider configuration is also used on handbags, weekender bags and backpacks where you want the zipper to be equally as smooth in both directions going around curves.
Even if you are not using the two sliders and only a single slider, the G2 performs excellently with smooth transitions around the curves of a handbag, wallet or coin purse creating enhanced functionality.
The Alpha One is a single-directional zipper. It was created in the image of the G2.
The interior of the zipper teeth are not the same on both sides like the G2 but has a nice single directional glide. The Alpha One is also slightly lighter in weight than the G2.
This zipper is used for zip up jackets that have one pull, inside pockets of handbags and jacket or hoodie pockets.
